Here's a the GasBuddy – Find Cheap Gas Android App by GasBuddy.com app is an app that will allow you search and locate gas stations around your GPS location in an effort to help you find the cheapest gas. The interface of the app is simple and intuitive with some great added features. The app will display not only the gas stations around you and their prices for regular, midgrade, premium, and diesel but will also detail for you what other services are offered at that specific gas station. (i.e. car wash, air, and ice chest etc.) Other options and features also include reporting the prices at the gas station and uploading a photo from the gas station.

When the application is opened they will ask you to become a member of gasbuudy.com and registration is handled within the app and is quite simple.  After searching based on your location you can view the gas by the grade in which you put in your car. You can sort the gas stations by price and even map the location through the map feature in the app. This feature is integrated within the app and will let you view all the gas stations on a map in your area and then let you select the gas station to view all of its prices and offerings. Each gas station will also reflect how old the prices reported are, so if you feel the price is too old you can submit an update on price for it through the app as well.

Adobe Photoshop Express Android App Review

Here's a the Adobe Photoshop Express Android App by Adobe Systems app is just like having Adobe Photoshop in your pocket at all times. The app is fantastically designed and allows you to edit any of the photos you have taken a picture of or have loaded on the phone. There is also an upload option which will allow you to upload to photoshop.com, Facebook, and TwitPic. The editing options are not lacking either, anything from cropping to contrast, and effects/borders. The options allow you to be a mobile photo editing machine! The Adobe program will also automatically load all your photos that have been stored on the phone upon first boot of the app so everything is right at your fingertips.

Upon opening Adobe Photoshop Express Android App the photos on the computer will be automatically thumbnailed. This makes for easier selection and editing. Once you select the photo you want to use you can either select to edit or upload the photo. Upon clicking edit you will be taken to the photo editing workspace within the app. This is where you can crop photos, changes the contrast, brightness and other color related effects. Here you can also change the soft focus of the image to make it a bit more hazy looking and even select the effects changes to change the photos color scale.

Words with Friends Android App Review

Here's a the Words with Friends Android App by Zynga app/game is a very well designed scrabble – like game that allows you to play the computer, friends, or a random opponent.  The most unique feature that makes Words with Friends by Zynga so great is that it allows for online game play with random people and also allows you to create your own game so you can choose to play with friends, family, or whomever you choose. This is great for anytime when you want to hop on for a quick game or challenge one of your friends. Another unique feature of Words with friends is that it allows you to play at your own pace, so if you begin a game and then get busy you can always return to the game at a later time and the game will still be as completely intact as it was when you left it.

 When the game begins Words with Friends will ask you to create a free account, if you do not have one simply enter in your email address and Zynga will create the account for you. Once you select your game play, by choosing to play a random opponent, or create a game on your own the game will begin. The board will be labeled with double point slots and other classic scramble – like pieces. The letters you currently possess that need to be formed will be displayed at the bottom of your screen. Simply drag the letters into place on the board to form words. Longer words with higher point value letters will earn you higher scores overall.

Google Translate Android App Review

The Google Translate Android App by Google Inc. app is Google’s very own translation software optimized for your android device. In sticking with true Google fashion, this app has no frills, is extremely well designed, very accurate and reliable. The app itself is a wonderful little tool and Google has expanded its language list for translation quite a bit sit Translates original inception. This could be due to the fact that Android devices now span the globe and more languages are constantly being requested as the android devices spread throughout the world. The app also comes with Google’s voice recognition software already integrated within the app to make for easy hands free translating.

 Here's a as soon as you open the app immediately you will notice the sheer simplicity of the app. You have one box for the current language, another box for the language you want to translate into and in the middle you have a “vice versa” button that will switch the languages with the tap of a button. You will also notice the voice integration and a nifty little SMS translation button, which when selected will take you to your thread of text messages so you may select the text needed to be translated. Enter in the set of text you would like to have translated, set the language you would like the text to be translated into and then select translate and Google will work its magic. While Translate is not 100% accurate it is accurate enough where you should be able to decipher what was being said. The translations are very literal so verb conjugations and slang may not be translated 100% properly.

Here's a The Google Earth Android App by Google Inc. app is Google’s mobile Android optimized version of the popular computer program Google Earth. Google has taken the Earth app and completely optimized it for the mobile Android platform including many of the popular features that are included with the computer program. The app itself includes many features including: locate me button, Google’s layers, street view and full access to the maps of the world. Google Earth like most other Google applications comes with fully integrated voice controls for searching for locations. Pressing the “my location” button embedded in the menu will zoom in from the limits of outer space all the way to your current location.

As soon as you open the Google Earth Android App you are greeted by a 3-D model of the planet. Free range is given for you to explore the Earth as you see fit.  All of the features available to you in the Google Maps app are given here as well. You can zoom in all the way to street level and look around at the street level. The search button is also able to be utilized to search for intersections or locations on planet Earth. The coolest feature of Google Earth is being able to roam freely all over the globe and visit new locations. One new feature            coming to Honeycomb versions of Google Earth will be inside pictures in which you will be able to look at images inside of buildings you are currently viewing.

Here's a The Google Voice Android App by Google Inc. app is Google’s mobile Android optimized voice services tool. Google voice can act as a free visual voicemail replacement for your current telephone number. You can also obtain a Google telephone number and the Google Voice app will be able to make calls based off of that number and manage voicemails as well as text messages that come into the Google Voice number you have registered. Another excellent feature of Google Voice is the ability to make International calls through the Google Voice app at much cheaper or even free rates.

The Google Voice Android App itself is very simply designed and is only meant to handle the specific functions of Google Voice. There is an area where all of you voicemails will be visually displayed, this will be where you can manage all of your voicemails, and you can play, pause, rewind, delete and make call backs to the number who left you the voicemail all from this platform. If you have it set up you also may be able to respond to text messages depending on how you have the account set up. All messages and phone calls will run through your Google Voice number.

Here's a The Dungeon Defenders: FW Deluxe Android App by Trendy Entertainment is a very in complex and well designed RPG game. The game sports an impressive graphics and game play engine that is some of the best available on the Android Market free or paid. The depth of this game is simply astonishing and will last you quite a while. The details of the game have been greatly measured as well as there are so many ancillary items it may be a good idea to perform the action tutorial. The one downside is that the game does require a huge file installation on the initial opening of the game after download from the market.

The game begins by you selecting your “hero.” After the hero has been selected there will a short intro in order to explain the game to you. The game play involves one main story line with several underlying missions called quests that will need to be performed. On these quests you will ear manna points and experience points which can go towards upgrading your hero to make him stronger in battle. You as the hero can also earn bonus points to help build up your castle as well. The castle and quests will help your hero become the most legendary hero of all time.

The QR Droid Android App by DroidLa app is a wonderful QR code application that allows you to generate your own QR codes, scan bar codes and scan QR codes. The app is well put together with a simple yet elegant fully efficient design. The creation template of the QR codes is an extremely helpful tool and the number of options available to create the QR code from its source is abundant. If you scan barcodes or use the QR codes quite often then this app will be well suited to your needs.

The app opens up and immediately goes into the heart of the app and its use. The user is greeted with a colorful interface that will allow you to choose whether you want to create a QR code or begin to can scan QR codes. Under both the creation and scan categories are several different option for where you will either obtain the QR code to scan or where the QR code you are creating will be used. This will allow for the proper generation of the QR codes so that they can be utilized appropriately and efficiently.

Here's a The QuickPic Android App by alensw.com app is an app that allows for much quicker access to all your photos. This app is better than the stock gallery application on this phone because it does not use any background processes. Therefore your images load faster and you are able to more efficient when it comes to viewing and moving photos on you android mobile device. This causes no delays whatsoever. The first time in the initial load of the app will take longer because the app is trying to compile all your pictures and albums. After the first load however all photos and albums are available instantaneously.

 When the application is opened the first time it will give you a waiting message. After everything is loaded it will be just like the stock gallery application.  The application is designed similarly to the stock application and offers all of the same features. The big bonus here is that it does not load any background data so accessing your photos will be simple. The app will separate the photos based on whether they were taken with the camera, downloaded from the internet, or loaded from the computer. You can create different places to store the photos, set them as wallpaper, or set them as the contact ID picture.

MoboPlayer Android App Review

Here's a The MoboPlayer Android App by Mobo Team app is a music replacement app that replaces the stock music application on your android mobile device. The application does offer some additional features that the stock application does not such as, support for additional codes. The application will also allow you to choose specific file directories in which it will pull music from. The music player offers album art thumbnails, a shuffle feature and touch sensitive controls that allow you to control the music within the apps interface. The touch controls include double tapping the song to pause the song that is currently playing. So in essence you may not even need to touch the actual play/stop traditional controls in order to control the music.

When the application is opened the first time it will ask you to define a file directory in which to pull music from. You may also select different directories as they app does support multiple file directories.  The app will also load all of the album art that comes along with the music in which you are playing. The settings menu is loaded with a ton of extra options that allow you to customize the player further including sensitivity to the touch gestures to control the music; the types of files supported, and even the ability to download newer codec’s for different audio players through the android market.

Here's a The Sketch Me Android App by roidstudio app is an imaging editing app that is very simple and only serves on purpose; to apply a special rendering affect to any image on your phone or one you take with a camera, to a sketch like photo. This app does not offer any additional features. You simply select the image file or take the picture of anything you want to appear in the sketch form. Once you have selected the photo the app will automatically apply the filter it has and that will allow you to see any image you can obtain in the sketch form.

 The application is so simply designed that there are only four different options. Those options include the camera button which allows you to snap a picture or choose one from the file system on your android mobile device. The next option is to save the file you just created which is necessary for saving the changes and sharing the pictures via MMS or social networks. The third option will allow you to directly email the photo to whomever you like.

Here's a The Color Touch Effects Android App by Swiss Codemonkeys app is an imaging editing app that is has a very clean look and feel too it. This app allows for you to capture a photo, take a photo that is posted on Facebook, and take photos stored on the phone and edit them with different coloring effects that are embedded in the app itself. The Color Touch Effects by Swiss Codemonkeys has a ton of options in the color related effects department of photo editing which gives the end user a ton of options for meticulously coloring in the photo to fit your desires.

When you open the application you can select the option of where to obtain your photo from (the camera, Facebook, or stored on the phone) and then you can proceed with the photo editing. After selecting a photo it will bring you to the editing engine of the app in which you can select pieces of the picture to color in and render with different effects without affecting the entire picture itself. The smallness of the effect tool enables particular attention to detail!

 The game keeps time and each year you will need to make payroll for your employees. From a new game you will get a few employees to start off with. You can hire, fire, advance your employee’s skill level and even change their job description. There are a few things your game company can do in order to make money: Develop a PC game, Develop a video game for a specific game console, take contract work or even develop your company’s own game console.

The games are the main part of your revenue and in order to develop games you will need to find the right combinations in order to make your game successful. For each element of the game you will hire either an employee or a contractor to do the preliminary work and then your staff will build on that. You can purchase upgrades from the salesman that will visit your office from time to time and then use these upgrades to further improve your game by using research and data points which you accumulate through out the game.

Overall, this is an excellent simulation game with lots of content and different ways of allowing you to get your game company reach it’s goals and make a million-selling game. At the time of this review the Game Dev Story Android App is $4.77. Thumbs Up.

Here's a The FatBooth Android App by PiVi & Co is a really funny camera app that takes pictures of your friends and family and makes them look really fat. Using the app is really easy, simply take a frontal face picture of your subject’s face so that it aligns up with the template. You can also use any frontal face pictures from your gallery.

Once you have either taken a picture or chosen one from your gallery you will need to use the app’s Face Detection feature where you drag each of the three elements to basically label the eyes, nose and mouth of the person in your picture. Once you submit the picture with the Face Detection elements in the correct places you will get a before and after picture of the person, one normal and one FatBoothed.

The Duck Hunt Android App by dengyin2000 is an exact replica of the original Nintendo game for your android mobile device. The classic game of duck hunt as you remember it has been brought you for your playing pleasure on android. The sounds, the graphics, the game play, everything is impeccable and nothing has been altered. The graphics definitely are nostalgic and remind you of the 1980’s and spending countless hours shooting ducks out of the air and watching your hunting dog retrieve them and be riddled with giddiness as he does so. This android port was done properly as it should be for a game of this caliber.

 The game begins with the all familiar scene of skies and bushes, and then the infamous Duck Hunt sound signifies that the duck will be flying. You would tap on the duck as it rises into the sky and this would be the substitute for pulling the trigger on the makeshift gun that came with the original game. Once the duck has passed on the notorious dog will go retrieve the duck and complete his epic laughter at the ducks demise. The number of ducks increases as does the difficulty with each passing level.

Stupid Zombies Android App Review

Here's a The Stupid Zombies Android App by Game Resort is an angry bird’s type zombie game in which zombies are put in certain positions and your job is to kill them all with as few bullets as possible. The game features a great graphics engine that sports some decent animations when it comes to zombies dying, blood being shed, and the gun actually being fired. The game is structured like angry birds in the sense that there are different levels involved and each level has 30 subsets of levels or so in which the goal is to earn enough points to gain 3 stars for each level.

 The game begins with you playing the survivor, so far, of a zombie apocalypse (I chose that as my reason you can make up your own) and your mission is to eliminate all zombies. The first time you fire a bullet you will realize that within the game engine, the bullets will ricochet off of walls and one bullet could potentially kill all the zombies on the level. This will increase the number of points you can earn per level and bring you closer to the 3 stars rating for each sublevel. The games levels get harder as you move on as does the obtaining of the three stars per level.

NFC-Enabled Android Devices

With the Ice Cream Sandwich release will come the ability to use NFC technology. NFC is short for Near Field Communication; it is a short-range high frequency wireless communication technology that enables the exchange of data between devices over a 4 inch distance.

This technology is already in use for certain public transportation services as well as some payment services. Google will use the technology to give all Android users running the Ice Cream Sandwich update the ability of peer-to-peer sharing of all kinds of data such as contacts, web pages, apps, location and payments for a few examples.

The Ice Cream Sandwich release is set for this holiday season and should bring some great advances and new capabilities for Android users.

Here's a The DropBox Android App by DropBox, Inc. is an app that allows you to any of the files you need with you at all times. A DropBox account (which is free to create) is required for this app. Any files, pictures, documents, movies, ROM’s etc. can be taken on the go with you no matter where you go! After the free DropBox account is created and you upload the necessary files to DropBox they will become available on the DropBox website, your android device, and all the computers you have registered with your DropBox account.

 The DropBox is essentially just that, a box that you can drop all of your files in. Those files will be synced to the DropBox website, your device and any of the computers you have registered. You can also provide the access information to other people so they may access your DropBox as well. This is very popular with Android Developers who create mod, ROMs, and hacks as it provides a free way to distribute their files for upload to media server or direct download. You can upload directly via your android device, or the computer. This is an excellent feature because if you are not near a computer and want to post a file this is an excellent method to do so.

Pocket Soccer Android App Review

Here's a The Pocket Soccer Android App by RasterGrid Entertainment is a very simply designed soccer game that does not utilize actual players.  The game is almost like playing air hockey with a soccer ball, and is not very well designed. The game play is redundant and boring and does not offer too much in the way of excitement. You only have two options: single player or two players, however both offer the same exact game play and the two players is a bit more difficult to manage and maneuver through.

The game opens with a make shift soccer field with one goal on either end of the screen. Depending on which teams you elected to play with will determine the representative countries flag logo on the face of the disc. There are 3 discs that represent 3 different players. Those players move at different speeds depending on the difficulty selected, there are 3 difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard. You swipe your disc in the direction in which you want the ball to be hit or in the direction of where the ball is traveling in order to prevent the opposition from scoring a goal.

Overall, this is just another game in the Android Market. There is nothing about this game that would make it stand out over other games. The game play is average at best and could serve as a good tool just to kill some time while standing in line. At the time of this review the Pocket Soccer Android App is free.
